Amid efforts to strengthen the creative-economy identity of Banyakprodo Village, Tirtomoyo Subdistrict, Wonogiri Regency, a number of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), ranging from batik crafts to local culinary specialties now have a new digital presence through the Banyakprodo MSME Database Development and Classification program, carried out by Tsuraya Safa Zerlina, a Statistics student at Diponegoro University (Undip), as part of the multidisciplinary work program of Undip’s Community Service Program (KKN), Team II, Academic Year 2025/2026, themed “Realizing Banyakprodo MSMEs 3B: Growing, Developing, Competitive”.
Carried out from 21–29 July 2026, the activity began with processing and verifying data collected from Banyakprodo Village MSMEs, including Indriyani Batik, Nurma Batik, Bakso Mas Ilun, Tiwul Mbah Uti, Attaya Hijab Store, Snack Ibu Suparni, and Berkah Lele. The collected data was then classified by business type and hamlet location, covering the batik craft, culinary, fashion, and fishery sectors, before being compiled into a format ready for integration into the village profile website.
The data-collection process was not without its challenges. Some MSME owners were found not to yet hold a Business Identification Number (NIB) and planned to obtain it independently, so the business-legality column in the database was left blank for the time being until the document is issued. Even so, this opened up a valuable opportunity to educate MSME owners on the importance of business legality amid efforts to digitalize their products.
The database that has been compiled now forms the foundation of the Banyakprodo MSME Website, developed by KKN students from the Electrical Engineering study program, which is now active and publicly accessible at: umkm-banyakprodo.vercel.app. Through the website, the profiles, product types, and distribution of MSMEs in Banyakprodo Village can now be traced digitally, opening up wider marketing opportunities for local business owners, in line with the spirit of the 3B program: growing, developing, and becoming competitive.
This program represents one form of KKN students’ contribution to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), through strengthening the database as a foundation for the digitalization of the village creative economy. Going forward, the database is expected to be regularly updated by village operators as new MSMEs emerge or existing business profiles change.
