The Statistics Study Program is one of the study programs under the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The opening of the Statistics Study Program has been planned since 1995 by implementing the Mathematics Department curriculum with several areas of emphasis, namely the areas of emphasis on Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. In 2000, Diponegoro University proposed the opening of the Statistics Study Program with a Bachelor’s degree level. After going through a long process and several improvements to the proposal, finally through a letter from the Directorate General of Higher Education No. 920 / D / T / 2003, Diponegoro University was granted permission to open the Statistics Study Program whose technical operational management is under the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The permit has been renewed with a Letter of Permit for Extension of Study Program Implementation No. 3260 / D / T / 2005 and then renewed again with a Letter of Permit for Extension of Study Program Implementation No. 2674 / D / T / KN / 2009. Currently, the Statistics Study Program has been accredited A based on Decree No. 3298/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/XII/2018.

The Statistics Study Program has two service laboratories to support the learning process for students and research for lecturers. The Statistics Undergraduate Program has four areas of expertise: Economics and Business, Industry, Computing and Management Information Systems, and Social and Governmental Studies. The total number of lecturers is 20, consisting of 6 with doctoral degrees and 14 with master’s degrees, with the following job qualifications: 1 Professor, 7 Associate Lecturers, 10 Lecturers, and 2 Assistant Experts.

The UNDIP Statistics Undergraduate Program (S1) produces graduates who have completed a minimum study load of 144 credits distributed over 8 semesters. The study period is divided into 3 stages, namely evaluation stage 1, evaluation stage 2 and the undergraduate stage. Evaluation stage 1 is carried out in semester III by collecting a minimum of 35 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.50 Evaluation stage 2 is carried out in semester VII by collecting a cumulative study load of at least 85 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.75. The undergraduate stage is given the opportunity until semester XIV with a total study load of at least 144 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.00. Students are declared to have passed the undergraduate stage if they successfully complete the entire study load of at least 144 credits including the thesis with a GPA ≥ 2.00 without a D grade.
