The Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universitas Diponegoro, successfully organized a Public Lecture as part of the Visiting Lecturer Offline program on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The event featured Associate Professor Siti Rahayu Mohd Hashim from Universiti Sains Malaysia, a distinguished academic known for her contributions in the field of statistical modelling.
The lecture, themed “From Basics to Breakthroughs: A Journey in Statistical Modelling”, was moderated by Miftahul Jannah, S.Si., M.Si. and attended by undergraduate students of Statistics, particularly those in their early years of study. This participation was significant as the lecture provided a strong foundation for understanding the basic concepts of statistical modelling while also introducing students to advanced developments relevant across various disciplines.
During the session, Associate Professor Siti Rahayu emphasized that statistical modelling serves not only as an analytical tool but also as a framework for understanding complex phenomena.
