The Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universitas Diponegoro, continued its Visiting Lecturer Offline program with the Thesis Examination for final-year students on Friday, May 22, 2026. This activity marked a crucial stage in the academic journey of senior students, providing them with the opportunity to demonstrate their analytical skills and present their research findings in a structured and professional manner.
On this occasion, Ivander Adrian Lie presented his thesis entitled “Application of DCC-GARCH in Dynamic Mean-Variance Portfolio Optimization for LQ45 Index Constituents during the 2022–2025 Period.” The examination was enriched by the presence of Associate Professor Siti Rahayu Mohd Hashim from Universiti Sains Malaysia, who served as an international guest examiner. Her involvement brought valuable perspectives to the evaluation process, ensuring that the student’s work was assessed not only for methodological rigor but also for conceptual accuracy and relevance in statistical applications.
During the examination, Ivander demonstrated strong analytical capabilities and confidence in presenting his research. He was able to interpret statistical results accurately and deliver his ideas clearly and effectively. The discussion session highlighted his ability to respond to questions with maturity, reflecting the academic training he has received throughout his studies.
Associate Professor Siti Rahayu praised the student’s performance, noting: “The final-year students showed strong analytical skills and confidence in presenting their work. Moving forward, they must pay closer attention to probability distribution concepts and ensure the right choice of variables to maintain statistical rigor.”
